Successfully downloading DirectX?

Question

one day when my computer was being extra slow, i did disk cleaup and removed programs, including DirectX.

DirectX is an important program that allows you to play games that take up your entire screen. i didn't know this was important to many of the games i play.

i went to a website (microsoft) to download, it downloaded successfully, but it didn't show up in the programs of the control panel when you add/remove programs. also, when i tried to play games, it failed.

what do i need to do?

After you download it, you need to install it. Did you forget that step?
