Question:

Succession to the British Monarchy?

Peter Phillips married recently. Is this the time to revise the rules on succession before the Queen has great grandchildren? I would suggest that the law be changed now so that children of Prince William and of the others of the Queen's grandchildren succeed without distinction as to gender. So assuming William reigns after Charles he would be succeeded by his first born rather than by the first born male.

  1. that is very similar to your last question make your mind up what you do want this idea is just as stupid as your last one

  2. Charles and William are expected to  make modernizations. This could be one of the things they change. Many people do not expect the current Queen to make too many changes(due to her age and beliefs),but she might agree to this change as well.

  3. I agree it should be changed, but the plans were dropped. I think this might be because they were going to allow catholics to succeed the throne at the same time. And the problem with that is that you then destroy a whole religion, the Protestant religion.

  4. I thought they had changed it a few years ago , but I could be wrong. But its a good idea.

  5. Bypass all the laws, and let them Duke it out amongst themselves.

(I know, I know. Bad pun, but I couldn't resist.)

  6. The law already states that females can claim the throne before their younger brothers...unless i've misunderstood the question

  7. I feel the answer would be for the reigning sovereign to nominate their successor (and spare).  Now THAT would be interesting . . .

  8. They did that already.

Next thing that needs doing is abolishing that whole system altogether. Monarchies are absolutely pointless, useless and stupid in the 21st century.
