I started a running regimine--I'm a beginner and it's really hard, but I am just focused on getting healthy. I've heard that once you get into shape with running, when you do it you get a "high" and you don't feel tired anymore--is this true? Anyone experience this?

  1. It would help to know what your plan is and how long you've been at it to give you the best answer.   But the reality is, a runner's high is much like an o****m (I'm told).  It's different for everyone, but my experience was more of just having a wonderful euphoric "floating on clouds" feeling.

I've never experienced anything like an intoxication high.

The exact feeling you describe where you don't feel tired anymore I suggest is probably myth, or it was induced with some other stimulation.

    Good Luck & happy running........

PS.  Always run in the shade

Stop at least every 20 minutes for water

  2. There probably is for some runners.  But I guess it all depends on when you run.  When you run at night, then yes it will be hard to sleep.  And in the morning you will feel ready to start the day with energy if you run in the morning.  Personally, I run hard and often and I am tired when I get back!

  4. Yes it is true but not like puff'n a J ..lol.. it when your body releases endorphins after a given amount of time and when that rushes to the brain it enhances all good feelings and they say it help with a lot of mental problems like depression as well.

  5. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... fat people invented that becuase they dont get tired as easily once they lose sum weight

  6. I've expierienced this, I managed to run 15 miles! My mom kept up for 5 and had to go home. I usualy only make 5 but wow, for some reason I just wouldn't seem to get tired and wanted to keep running.
