Sucka just plain died

Question

My 1100w Kenmore 565.60502990 (has a funky big dial/button to set/start) just flat out died. Went to use it and it acted like the Child Lockout feature had been activated (this occurs when the dial has been pressed for 3 sec). Tried to deactivate the lockout but instead everything sort of froze-up (wouldn't respond to any button commands) then shut down. Since then it acts as if it gets no power (outlets and house fuses all okay) at all...no lights, no response to any action whatsoever. Though certainly no mechanic I've had my fair share of fix-its and I'm not afraid to crack this one open and putter a bit but I'd still like to get an idea of what to look for. I'm going to open it now just to see if anything obvious jumps out at me but I'll accept any ideas.Thanks in advance, Jim.
