Night before last I dreamed that I looked out a window and a tornado was almost up to my house. I turned to tell my husband and family to run. Just then it hit the house and took a big gaping piece out. Then just like in the movie Twister’s “cellar scene” I was being sucked into it and my husband was trying to hold on to me by my arms but I knew he couldn’t hold me much longer. Then I work up with my heart pounding.

  1. Without knowing about you or your family I would say that you feel as if something recently has taken place or is currently taking place and you home is , or will be, left incomplete.  In this instance I don’t think the house being torn apart indicated your physical house but more what you consider to be your family. I think you feel as if an outside force is literally tearing your family (more to the point you and your husband) apart and you feel helpless as it destroys what you hold as precious and separates you from those you love. I think this event is more centered around something you’re doing that you feel is causing all the trouble due to the fact that in the dream you are the one being ripped away from the house as your husband is attempting to keep you from being sucked into this storm.

  2. this type of dream is called a chaotic dream. it rates right up there with hurricanes, fires, floods, volcanoes, ect. these dreams are called chaotic dreams because they are caused by chaos in your life weather you are aware of it or not. the fact that the tornadoe pulled you into it indicates the chaos has already taken over your life. you need to take a good, longhard ,open-minded look at your life to see what is causing this chaos. it could be job related, financial related, family related, friendship related, ect. sometimes peoplel ask more of us than we are capable of giving at the time. sometimes we ask more of ourselves than we are capable of giving at the time. if you can't find the source then i would suggest that you go to a talk therapist for help in finding out what is going on in your life and how to correct it. in the mean time there is a relaxation technique that my therapist years ago taught me that does help to some extent. pull your shoulders down from your head and try to relax them. then you take in air through your nose slowly to a count of 8 ...hold to a count of 4...release slowly through your mouth to a count of 8. repeat until you are feeling relaxed. depending how uptight you are it may take several tries at first to feel any results but i promise you it does work and the best part of it is that you can do it any where at any time and no one will know that you are doing it.
