Question:

Sudden dry eyes caused by contacts?

I've been wearing contacts for 5 years now, and just recently i started noticing that everytime i put them on, my eyes become extremely dry right away. At first i thought it was because i wear them too often, so i stopped wearing them everyday, and only use it for special occasions. However this didnt make my dry eyes go away, instead it feels like it has gotten worse. i went to the doctors, he said that there is nothing wrong with my eyes, also the contacts are new. Does anyone know what could be possibly wrong with my eyes?

thanks!

  1. maybe somebodys doing somthing to them when your not around my room mate wears them and lets just say hes also mysteriesly has itching eyes

  2. The doctor is right, there is nothing wrong with your eyes.  There's no problem with the contacts either.

You need eye drops for dry eyes,  There are a couple of brands on the market specifically for this problem.  It's not a contact lens product.  If you can't find the eye drops at the store, ask the Pharmacist to help you.

The eye drops help right away.  Use as needed.

  3. Lack of minerals.

    Drink more water.

  4. Try the eye drops.   Geez, your eye doctor wasn't much help, was he?  Or did you just ask your regular doctor?

  5. dunno but you should use eye drops

  6. You should make an appointment with your ophthalmologist before reaching any conclusions, and do not wear the lenses until you have seen him or her.

If, on the other hand, you have any reason to believe that someone is tampering with your lenses as one idiot's answer suggests, then you, like his "friend" should involve the police because that would constitute a serious and potentially very harmful assault.
