Question:

Sudden itchy, fluid-filled skin bubbles?

In the last hour, I have developed itchy fluid-filled bubbles on my neck and on the top of my ear. I broke the ear one and clear (non-smelling) fluid came out. The bubbles are very itchy, and I have been inside practically all day. The bubbles are also very hot compared to my skin in other areas.

I was out yesterday at a playground, but I have never had a 24-hour delayed reaction to things, so I don't think the playground thing is the issue. Maybe one of my nephews (both 5) had something, but I am at a loss. Spider bites? Tick bites? Allergic reaction?

I have had poison ivy, and it's not that because this problem is showing in specific separate bubbles. There is no trail. Also, I am prone to mosquito bites, and these are not mosquito bites.

Any info is appreciated.

  1.  I would advice you to immediately contact a skin specialist. A professional will give you the best solution for your ailment. I guess you are suffering from contact dermatitis, because all the symptoms detailed by you are found in this disease. You should use Benadryl Skin Allergy Relief Cream, it would heal your itching, rash and bumps.

  2. I have the same problem, I have had hundreds of patch tests, needles and other tests to find out what causes it from all different specialists. To date the doctors have found nothing as an alergic reaction, no other cause has been found, but we have found that Prednisone 20mg for 9 days as well as using fluocinonide .05% cream 2 times a day keeps it in check until for what ever reason it stops appearing on my hands, feet and ankles. Really it is about stopping the iching, it gets so bad it could drive someone insane somedays.

  3. happens to me when I eat chocolate

  4. I get small  clear looking bumps that are exactly as you describe. I get them mostly on my hands and it was always worse whenever I worked with clay (wheel thrown pottery) My mom says I used to get them as a child and the Dr. told her it was because my pores werent opening correctly to release sweat so maybe that's why the clay made it act up worse? (clogging the pores)
