Suddenly, my magnavox television will not program to a remote?

If you have only tried one remote, I would suspect the remote is bad. If you have tried several remotes, then the remote sensor in the tv is probably bad. Usually a minor repair. If you have  camcorder or a webcam, aim the remote it at the camera and pres some buttons (one at a time) and you should be able to see the remote transmitting the infrared pulses as a flashing light. Then you will at least be able to tell if the remote is putting out a signal
