For about the past week I've been addicted to water for no reason. I drink 74+ fl oz a day now and I'm worried. Is there anything wrong with me, is it a stage or something, or do I have some medical problem. I also have been loosing a lot of weight as soon as I started always being thirsty.

  1. may b

    just a thot

    ur thirsty

  2. *I am the same way* Water among other things is my addiction. And it could always be something worse, right? Water is good for you but anything in excess is bad. I had to stop drinking so much water at night cause instead of sleeping like a normal person, I would be up at all hours peeing away my addiction.

If your losing weight, that pobably means you have been more active and drinking water gives you balance and energy (to refuel)

Anything serious though... go to your doctor, to play it safe!

  3. I have heard when people develope diabeties they become very thirsty it cant hurt to go get a check up

  4. Craving water, and losing weight quickly are signs of Diabetes.

    Go visit your doctor.

  5. WATER IS VEERRRY HEALTHY FOR YOU!!! its much better than craving pop like most other people. stop obsessing. your really lucky lol

  6. do you sweat(exercise) a lot?if not, it could be a medical problem.

I heard that sometimes when people have cancer, they get very thirsty for no reason at all.But i'm not saying you have it, it may just be dehydration due to IBS, LBM or something.

    get checked up!

This is not the only possible cause

Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning) is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain functions that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by over-consumption of water.[1] Normal, healthy (both physically and nutritionally) individuals have little to worry about accidentally consuming too much water. Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests, in which individuals attempt to consume more than 10 liters (3 gallons) of water over the course of just a few minutes, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet massive amounts of fluid are still consumed.
