My fiancee and i were standing talking and smoking a cigarette. All of a sudden i noticed she didn't look well, so i asked if she was light headed from the cigarette. She said yeah, hold me. So i did...within seconds she fell asleep and i was holding on to all her body weight so she wouldn't drop to the ground. The reason i said she fell asleep is because she snored..and she not one that snore at night neither. then she woke back up..this all happens within 5 to 7 seconds.

Any one know why this happen? Thanks...OH and this never happen to her in her life before...

  1. Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder characterized by overwhelming daytime drowsiness and sudden attacks of sleep.

People with narcolepsy often find it difficult to stay awake for long periods of time, regardless of the circumstances. Narcolepsy can cause serious disruptions in your daily routine.

Some people mistakenly attribute symptoms of narcolepsy to depression, seizure disorders, fainting, simple lack of sleep, or other conditions that may cause abnormal sleep patterns.

Narcolepsy is a chronic condition that doesn't go away completely. Although there's no cure for narcolepsy, medications and lifestyle changes can help you manage the symptoms. And talking to others — family, friends, employer, teachers — can help you cope better with narcolepsy.

  2. While it is not impossible that she has developed Narcolepsy, it is most likely that she had a brief, transitory episode of unconsciousness from the effects of the cigarette, especially if she is not a regular smoker.  The snoring was do to a positional, partial occlusion of her airway.
