Suddenly fussy at 4 wks old...bf could diet effect her temperment

My daughter gets real fussy when she is awake.....when awake she

wants to be held all the time and will cry if put down.

In the daytime she will only sleep if held and will cry if you put her down

,even if already asleep....I understand that she is use to being in my

womb, therefore close to me, but I was wondering if what I eat can

effect her attitude? \

If so, what foods have a negative impact?

  1. it certainly those affect them but that's not why shes crying.......

has she always being held my someone??? bc babies get very used to being held very easily and if that's wat always has experience than if u dont start now ur going to have a very hard time making her used to not being in ur arms all the time.

try laying her down and put her to sleep like that. do rocking motions to her bottom, lay next to her, sign to her, try whatever u can.

if u haven't already, invest on a swing they work wonders.

    and about the food.

    spicy

    caffeine

i cant think about others right now but breastfeeding u have to eat very very healthy. bc remember ur feeding ur baby and u don't want to feed her chips and soda u know ?

  2. When I was breastfeeding I couldn't eat anything that was citrus, acidic, or fibrous at all- tomatoes, oranges, grapefruit, apples, peaches, spaghetti sauce, coffee, peppers, broccoli, radishes, etc. I especially had to watch fruit juices. Just touching those types of things would make my daughter fussy and gassy and would give her a diaper rash!

  3. "If so, what foods have a negative impact?"

The stuff about spicy, "gassy," etc, foods are old wives' tales. See:

  4. Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with what you're eating . . . she just sounds like a normal 4 wk old to me.  Newborns seem to have their "fussy days" especially in the first 12 weeks.

If you are worried about your diet common irratants can be dairy and caffiene.  Maybe try removing them for a week and see if her temperment improves.  She probably just feels secure when she's close to mommy though.
