Suddenly my phone out credit is not shown in messenger & i can't make calls? please suggest something?

I had a similar problem. The phone-out credit suddenly stopped showing on messenger. "Call a phone number" brings up a popup that asks to subscribe to yahoo voice. The workaround was to just type the phone number you want to call in the contact bar.. and it just works... the call goes through.
