Sudhanshu Medsikar tames Ankit Kumar in qualifying round at Junior National Badminton Championship
India’s Sudhanshu Medsikar continued playing positive badminton and reached into Men’s Singles main round after defeating his lower ranked country-mate Ankit Kumar in qualifying round clash at the 37th Junior National Badminton Championship-2012
in India, on Sunday, November 11.
The in-form Sudhanshu, who was the second seeded shuttler in Men’s Singles draw in qualifying round, played dominating badminton while remaining positive on court and managed to crush his rival in a completely ruthless manner.
Sudhanshu was in remarkable form on court as he played with tremendous speed in all areas of the court. He did not even put in extra effort in finishing off the match in straight games with a killing margin in just 17 minutes.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Ankit was in all sorts of trouble as he failed to put up strong show on court. He was lacking the speed and accuracy and eventually lost to his in-form challenger without showing a strong character.
The unmatched speed and attacking shots of Sudhanshu helped him to occupy the driving seat from the starting points of opening game.
Sudhanshu showed a strong performance in the arena and eventually remained successful in taking a strong position without facing any resistance from Ankit.
The in-form Sudhanshu remained in dominating position all the way in opening half and took a stunning lead on score board until the end of first half.
After the break, the match proceeded in the similar fashion as Sudhanshu did not drop his speed at any stage and remained dominant throughout the set to end it up with an incredible margin of 21-6.
In the second game, Sudhanshu did not lose his focus and supremacy in the arena and again took a wonderful lead against his confused challenger until the break.
Ankit tried his best to stop the progress of his opponent but he failed to execute positive shots in right areas and remained struggling.
The in-form Sudhanshu stayed in lead after the break and bagged the set with a staggering 21-9 margin on the board.
Sudhanshu emerged as the winner in this qualifying round contest in a lopsided fashion by a stunning margin of 21-6 and 21-9.
