Sugar, animal vegetable mineral?

in the game animal vegetable mineral where does sugar belong it is made up of a plant but people dont think of it as a plant

Good question. My immediate thought was that both sugar cane and sugar beet are plants, so it's "vegetable". Wrong! :-)

Sugar isn't made up of a plant, it can be made by plants.

Sugar is definitely mineral, it's a carbohydrate and non-living.
