Sugar Ray Leonard reckons Amir Khan will beat Zab Judah – Boxing news
Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, who is widely considered as one of the best boxers of all time, reckons the current WBA World super lightweight champion, Amir Khan, will beat the IBF light welterweight champion Zab Judah in their unification bout.
Amir ‘King’ Khan will take on the Super, Zab Judah, in the biggest fight of his career this weekend on July 23, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Leonard thinks Amir will shine on the fight night.
The 55-year-old American combatant, Leonard, knows Judah is a southpaw and it is always difficult to fight against a fighter like him but still he believes Khan is going to win eventually.
“There is always a risk when you fight guys of veteran ability but Amir Khan is fresher, younger, he wants it and I think this is Amir Khan's chance to really shine and really make a name for himself,” Leonard said in an interview.
The 24-year-old Bolton belter, Khan, who has won 25 of his 26 professional fights including 17 by the way of a knockout, is planning to face the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather.
Leonard also commented on the Khan-Mayweather bout. He stated Khan is no doubt a very good fighter but going against the likes of Mayweather or eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, would be too early for him.
While speaking on his inclusion, he remarked, “When you go into the Floyd Mayweathers and the Pacquiaos, you go into a whole different arena because of the experience, because of the confident, because of the talent. You take everything one step at a time
and one fight at a time and you don't go past that. You take what's coming to you right now.”
Floyd Mayweather’s bout with Khan has not been confirmed as of yet. However let’s see if Khan secures a win over Judah and sets up a clash with Mayweather as it is certainly going to be an explosive fight.
