If Ray,who beat lalonde for the title, met Calzaghe at the present time and keep in mind his fight with Hopkins, who would win everything being equal, albeit Calzaghe being slightly bigger

  1. Calzaghe is much bigger and would win the UD. Donny LaLonde is no Calzaghe.

  2. sorry,Joe is out classed here even against an ageing and slower Ray Leonard,Calzaghe has 2 hopes here,Bob Hope and no hope, and i go for no hope Leonard was one of the finest  boxers in history and would out class the limited Calzaghe.

  3. hi hows it going, in this fight i believe Leonard would have destroyed calzaghe.he was to fast and he was strong.now your probably thinking how, but you must understand one thing if hagler,Duran, and hearns couldn't knock him out how do you expect calzaghe too.hearns was one of the hardest hitting fighters for his class ever.he even became light heavyweight champ and he couldn't KO him.Leonard was amazing he would work the jab always staying away.then about the 10-11th round he would flurry and put calzaghe on the mat.remember yes calzaghe has been champ for a long time.but other than a 43 year old hopkins and kessler he hasn't fought anyone.he wouldn't fight Roy  Jones Jr or tarver or toney.he has made a career of fighting bums.that way he can keep his title.now that there old he wants to fight them.

  4. Hagler, & Hearns  didn't KO Ray, they were much better punchers than Calzaghe. Hopkins at 43 was landing cleaner punches in the early rounds. Calzaghe has a solid chin and great stamina. It would come down to points. Leonard being in his prime would land cleaner shots. Ray fought well while back pedaling. He wouldn't get tired, as he never did in his prime. His lateral movement would be to much for Joe. Leonard by unanimous dec.

  5. Sugar Ray Robinson would wup his bottom.

  6. Ray leonard by a decision win

  7. actually, leonard never fought at light heavy, he dragged la londe down to 168 pounds.

at supermiddleweight, assuming this is the same leonard who was lucky to get a draw against hearns, and who beat duran in their rubber match, i will still give the edge to leonard.

  8. You're not serious, are you?

If yes, you should watch one of the great Sugar Ray fights (e.g. the second Duran fight) and reconsider even asking. I'm sorry if I come off harsh, but this question sounds like "who would win - Tommy Morrison or Muhammad Ali" in my ears.

  9. Calzaghe doesn´t deserve to be even mentioned in the same breath as the great Sugar Ray,

Leonard would of bounced him from rope to rope and splattered him across the canvas in 3 rounds!!!

  10. calzaghe would knock him out in the 1st round with a devastating flurry of punches

  11. Leonard.

  12. this question is bullshit! your making Calzaghe sound the weaker fighter as your saying its "based on the fight against Hopkins' just because Calzaghe wasn't at his best. Why not say a Calzaghe who beat Lacy vs Leonard?? you would soon get difference of opinion. Calzaghe is undefeated world champ for ten years and almost got as many title defences as leonard had fights. Yes leonard is a legend and beat some great fighters but the fact is he was a blow up welterweight when fighting hagler/hearns/duran Calzaghe is natural super middle and comfortable at light heavy. so if the fight was atlight heavy calzaghe(vs lacy) would win on points. just as quick as leonard with hand speed, physically stronger and bigger, solid chin, better work rate/ stamina, and capable of going into a war and winning. leonard lost v duran when he couldnt get his own way first time out, calzaghe has it in his blood to change style/ tactics through the fight to win. thats why he undefeated, he has 3/4 game plans which are all effective.
