  1. Hahaha I am sure most people have come across the odd forgotten end of bucket of soaked beet for horses tucked away . Try taking a good sniff add some more water and see what it's like. You never know!!! %}

  2. here's one..

    Ingredients:

    10 lbs beetroot

    juice of 3 lemons

    2lb Sugar

    ½ oz cloves

    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    1oz ginger

    yeast

    10 pints cold water

    Method:

Mince beetroot coarsely, put in a pot with the water. Add ginger, cloves and cinnamon and leave for 12 hours.

Bring to the boil and boil for 10 minutes, strain off liquid and add sugar and lemon juice.

    Stir until sugar has dissolved.

Put into fermentation jars and add activated yeast when it has cooled enough.

Bottle when fermentation has stopped adding two raisins to each bottle.

Note: this tastes like a full bodied port wine, very warming.

***EDIT...oooooo here's a good website!!  May have to check some of these out!!!http://www.happymountain.net/table%20of%...

Ah c**p...it's a book I would have to buy...

    still looking...

    ***EDIt...found another one...

For those who prefer a natural sweet wine.

    5 lb. sugar-beet • 3 oranges • 3 lemons

    only 2 lb. sugar • 1 oz. yeast • 5 quarts water

Scrub and grate the unpeeled beet and put them into the water and bring slowly to the boil. Simmer gently for twenty minutes. Strain into the fermenting vessel and add the sugar at once. Then cut up the oranges and lemons into thin slices and float them on the surface of the brew. Allow the wine to cool and then add the yeast. After fourteen days' fermentation take off the sliced fruit and then proceed with isinglass and bottling.

That one looks easy...what the heck is a fermenting vessel though???

**EDIT...Oh Debi...you WOULD know that...wouldn't ya??  LOL!! *Bunny apologizes for being mean*

I'm a redneck...I think of moonshine jars.  Same concept...

  5. You can make wine out of most anything ... where I am from not only do they excel at making "wine" out of corn, but dandelions as well. I am not sure how to go about doing it but it can be done!
