  1. No.  Not more than once a month at most.  Sugar is very bad for their teeth so use it sparingly if at all.  It is totally not good for lyour horses.  Give them some slices of apple or carrot.  This will be much better and they will love it.  You should avoid giving your horse junk food.  Even treats should be excellent quality.  Besides the fruits and veggies they like, I only give Buckeye treats in peppermint and apple flavors.  they love them and all good.  And also Winnie's Cookies - good treat and so very good for them - like a vitamin that is a treat.  I'm not too much on treating except after bath after work.  Then a few slices of apple or carrot or cookies.  Never use treats as rewards in training or work they should do on their own without being inticed.  I read on here the other day someone was giving their horses dunkin donut holes for treat.  NOT GOOD>

  2. You'll be plenty safe to give these treats even on a daily basis! They'll love seeing you even more!

  3. Yes.

  4. Sounds great! You can also mix it up by giving them chopped apples and carrots. Just a word of advice: You might not want to always feed them by hand because some horses get in the habit of looking for food there and when there isn't anything in your hand, they will still nip it. Just be careful and have fun with them! :)

  5. It is ok to give them but maybe instead of one a week you could give them once every fortnight. Horses do get cavities and stuff like that to so you don't want to rot out their teeth. But sugar cubes are okay for them occasionally. You could also give them paw paw, they REALLY like them. Ans mushy ones are good for old horses to.

  6. One a week is fine even for a horse with metabolic syndrome!  One a day would be just fine.

  7. kill it

  8. horses love sugar cubes! it won't hurt the horses on bit. unless of course, that is all they are getting! lol, but you don't need to worry about hurting them by giving them sugar cubes once a week.

  9. The only problem you might have is sometimes horses will become nibblers if they always expect treats.  A horse nibble can really hurt and it is a hard habit to break.  Be sparing with the treats and lay on the attention.

  10. my vet always told me 2 give my horses sugar cubes every other week that way the wont keep wanting more and more and then all sudden ur out of sugar cubes so just keep them on a every week diet or whatever u feel comfortable with and the horse feels comfortable with
