Question:

Sugar free red bull OK to drink?

I used to drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day, but now I drink 2-3 of those sugar free Red Bulls instead. The big size, not the small 8.3oz size.

Other than costing me more money, is it doing me any harm?

  1. There is more caffeine in red puke than there is in coffee. The bigger cans are 2 servings. So this means you went from 2 - 3 cups of coffee to 4 - 6 cups of red puke. So with the extra caffeine you more than doubled your caffeine intake which is not good for you at all.

Caffeine dehydrates our bodies and depletes it of calcium. One of the symptoms of dhydration is being tired. It is our body's way of preventing us from overworking and overheating since there is not enough water present to run efficiently. To be properly hydrated we need 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds of body weight and 8 more ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise. Proper hydration will increase our motabolism and eneryg levels by 3%.

If you feel tired drink 2 glasses of water. If you feel better in 15 minutes then you were just dehydrated. If you are still tired then try an energy drink or coffee. Keep in mind that since it takes more water for our body to process caffeine than a caffeinated drink provides we must replace that water within 15 - 30 minutes after we drink the caffeinated drink.

The regular crash effect that is normal from drinking sodas and energy drinks is intensified by not replacing that water. With proper hydration the crash effect can often be unnoticable.

Energy drink companies recommend against having more than 2 a day, even the healthy energy drinks do this. This means you are consuming way too much. Besides the taurine, you are taking in way too many calories and grams of caffeine. I would expect your weight should be going up too.

  2. It is still loaded with caffiene! Duh

  3. its horrible for your heart and theres this artificial sweetener that  can put holes in your brain because you start to lose brain cells so rapidly

  4. I can't say that it's doing you harm...go to www.redbull.com ingredients and you will find all the ingredient information.  I would say if you are staying away from caffeine only maybe that you should not drink it.

  5. your brain cells are dying at a faster rate now
