  1. Sugar beets have a higher concentration of sucrose.

Sugar cane produce more sucrose per acre.

Sugar cane requires more tropical climates, and therefore, is more resisitant to plagues and diseases.

Sugar beets are more adequate to tempered climates.

  2. Neither and both.  Both cane an beet sugar have the same identical chemical structures

  3. Which has a "better" sugar content?  I don't think that there is any difference in the sugar. Sucrose is sucrose no matter the source.  Sugar cane can produce a lot more sugar per acre than beets, but sugar beets can be grown in a lot more areas where cane cant grow.  They both have their advantages and disadvantages, but their sugar is the same.

  4. sugarcane

  5. that's a good question i was watching a documetary about beets and sugarcanes and wondering the same thing !!

i like to munch on sugar canes though ;P

  6. Sugarcane does I believe, but unless you live in Hawaii (like me), you cannot grow sugarcane.

  7. sugar canes are pure sugar, sugar biets have sugar in them but it still needs to be extracted.

but did you know honey is actually a full 30% sweeter than pure sugar?

  8. Sugarcane produces more sugar than sugarbeets.
