Question:

Sugargliders!?!?!?!?!?!?

I got a Sugarglider a month ago and I love him. At first I showed him a lot of attention, but know I have been showing him less. He has gotten very agressive and mean. How can I make him mind me and not be so sassy.

I have already tried holding him more, but I am scared that he will bit me. Anything else.

Oh and I also need some information on how to clip there nails. Any Advice?

  1. When you first get them, you are supposed to let them settle in and get used to you for a few days. Then start handling them.

Maybe buy a bonding pouch and carry him in it around your neck in the day when he's sleeping.

You can not make a sugar glider "mind" you. They have to like you, and get used to you.

You should really have another glider. They need/want companions. Get a female if you can, because non-neutered male gliders will fight.

This website has LOTS of experienced sugar glider owners, and they can answer any questions you may have. You can also read other people's questions and stories, see pictures of other people's gliders, and post your own questions, pictures, and answers.

  2. I had a gerbil like that. When ever I had to clean his cage I would put on some gloves. If you want to hold him I would wear gloves so you won't feel a thing. I would play with my sugarglider everyday! Sorry I don't know how to clip their nail though.
