Suggest any video games w/ female protagonists? (adventure, point & click, or RPG)?

Question

i'm a girl & i'm just looking for more games where i can actually relate to the main character. particularly adventure games that focus less on fighting and more on story-telling, problem-solving, character interaction, & puzzles.

or spy games like james bond or splinter cell, w/ female heroes instead.

any suggestions?

Dragon Quest VIII (Main protagonist is a guy, but my little sister is married to this game, so I'm sure you'll get a blast out of this one too).

Okay, I know this only halfway counts since it's an MMORPG, but... World of Warcraft. Or Ragnarok Online.

When it comes to not-cheating responses... Tomb Raider, Metroid and Beyond Good and Evil are some good picks. For a long-term RPG, Final Fantasy X-2 is also filled with female protagonists (3, actually).

If you're into thrillers, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly is a good scare.

Oh man, hope to god you can update to PS3. Cause soon this game called Mirrors Edge comes out and it's exactly what you described. It's based on puzzles, action and stealth with a tiny bit of combat. Main character is a girl that has to free her unjustly imprisoned sister from a totalitarian "Big Brother" style government.

One of my favorite games of all time is "Mercenaries" for the Xbox/PS2.

You have your choice of 3 playable characters, one of which is a woman. It is however your classic 3rd person shooting game, but it has a fantastic storyline, as it was made by a Hollywood company (LucasArts). The sequel is also set to come out late this month (if it's not already out).

I really recommend this game to anyone out there, you'll immediately get involved in the storyline and relate to the characters.

Another choice is Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. It's a strategy game for PC. It features Gina Carano as Natasha Volkova, the leader of the Russian army. It should be a handful of action/adventure like you described.
