  1. Take shorter showers (4mins), keep a bucket in the shower and use the water collected to water the garden, use a bucket instead of the hose when washing the car, sweep up outside instead of hosing, install a rainwater tank, install a water saving showerhead, don't leave the tap running when brushing teeth, make sure leaking taps are fixed, half fill the sink when washing dishes, wait until the dishwasher is full before turning it on, buy water efficent washing machines and dishwashers, install a duel flush on toilets.

  2. Use sea water (if you are near the sea) or raw water to flush the lavatory and use drinking water only for drinking, that includes cooking. If you do this, you can put off measures like 'recycling' and all that c**p for another half a century. Also pollution in running water must be curtailed by adapting organic life-friendly chemicals that reduces the load of BOD and COD (Biological and Chemical Oxygen demand).

  3. Dishes: fill the sink with water before washing dishes, and rinse each dish shortly...

Washing clothes: Hand wash by filling a sink or washer with water and laundry soap; then, scrub clothes in water, rinse and dry (either hang-dry or put in dryer) or use an effieciency washer, which only uses small amounts of water for washing.

Bathroom: don't flush when urinating - only when defecating (number 2)

Hand washing: quickly cover hands in water, then turn water off while scrubbing with soap; then rinse quickly.

  4. turn off the tap when not in use

  5. For me use recycle the water that can be use again. It can be use in washing the dishes, laundering the clothes and for watering the plants.

  6. use water in conserved methods like recycling the waste water ,while washing close the taps  ,  use the waste water from your kitchen to water plants.............................  goeson, keep thinking

  7. Have all out pipes from dishwashers and washing machines go straight to the garden. Have buckets in the shower to catch water as much water as possible, and never exceed 3 minutes in there. Pull out ornamental plants that require water in large quantities to survive, and replace them with native Australian drought resistant plants. Have as little grass as possible, grass is a huge waste of water. Use the micro fibre cloths to clean your car and only wash it when it really needs it. Only wash clothes and dishes when you have a full load. Most govts now offer a redemption of a few thousand dollars to offset the cost of rainwater tanks. There are many other more elaborate ways, such as saving all of your "grey" water from toilets and bathrooms and installing a filtration system to filter the water before re using it on gardens etc.
