Suggested age to start riding motorcycles?

I started when I was 5,a nd racing dirt at 9

the sooner the better, i started at 8 on quads then moved up to dirt bikes, now street. starting young on dirt is great for experience and practice.

as soon as the kid can safely wear the riding gear and have decent coordination.

some of the other answers refer to legal licensed ages, or racing ages.

I started riding dirt bikes at age 5. NYS you have to be 16 to ride on the highway....I'm 59 years old today and hve owned 34 bikes ....so far.

Most states allow a rider to start on the street at 16. Dirt,is different! 10 or older for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IN THE UK--16 YEARS --but you can ride on the race track at 6 years
