Having purchsed silk dupion to have a suit made, what fabric would make a suitable lining? I want something that will breathe - not make the wearer hot, nor the fabric cause static. Thank you.

  1. I would use a polyester taffeta lining. It's light, it won't wrinkle and won't show through.

    .

  2. how about a thin silk .... it's slippy, natural and breathable unlike polyester, and not as likely to cause static as polyester.

I used a dupioni white silk [i called it raw silk] for my wedding dress, and lined it with a thin white silk. it worked perfectly well, and it FELT wonderful.

  3. most lining fabrics are made of polyester, and with a dupioni it would be unbreathable.  i would suggest a cotton/poly blend broadcloth.
