Suggestion about a place where to stay near Galway or Limerick?

Hi I am italian.

I'd like to come in Irland, and I have some questions.

1- Can you please tell me if it is nicer Galways or Limerick or wich town you would suggest in the area to a tourist?

2-I would probably come by plane, there are easy way to reach the village you suggest from the airport?

3-I would like a (cheap) single room in a family with half board or with the possibility to use the kitchen (at least in the evening) to cook meself a dish of spaghetti -do you have any suggestion? any address?

If you're going to Galway, Knock Airport is nearest.  If you're going to Limerick, Shannon Airport is nearest but you can access Galway easily from Shannon Airport as well.  

In Shannon Airport, the bus goes straight to Limerick & you can also pick up the bus to Galway in Shannon as well
