Suggestion for a good vacation 2 hours +/- southeast lower michigan for a family w/ young kids on a budget?

  2. It would be nice to know more about your likes and/or dislikes and time of year.

    The websites below should have something for everyone.  I'm a water person so any of the State Parks near the water would be my preference. Algonac State Park is across the street from the River, and if you're near the road you have a terrific view of the boats. Sterling State Park offers bird and animal watching through a marshy area.  Brighton Recreation Area offers horse riding (or at least it did)

    Jellystone Park up near Frankenmouth is close to Bronners and the city and may also be a good choice. I'm not sure what's offered if you don't have an RV.

    There are also several Metro Parks that are near camping facilities.
