I live in NC and we want to plant some white flowering bushes out in front of our house. I'm not crazy about Azeala's but I don't know much about gardening. Any suggestions?

  1. Lilac,(Syringa)

                         Butterfly bush(Buddleia,)

    Iceberg floribunda roses,

    Mexican orange Blossom(Choisya)

    Camellias

Hydrangeas (Select white variety in bloom)

Viburnum Opulus.Any or all of the above would succeed, they vary in height and spread and a combination would give a long season.

  2. For most of NC, good choices are lilacs, hydrangeas, butterfly bush (buddleia), abelia, camellia, gardenia,  rose of sharon, and many, more.

See if your area has a Master Gardener Program through the county agriculteral extension service.   They are the best at knowing what works where you live.
