Suggestion to Americans here?

I really believe that energy prices have gone too high and need to be protested. What do you all think of forcing our government into achieving energy independence as soon as possible by truckers all over the whole country coming to a stand still and at the same time commuters keeping their driving at or near zero?? That would drive fuel demand down alot. Also, I would love to see the airliner workers stage walkoffs from their jobs and put the airline industry to a stand-still for about a week. How about have all 3 happen at the same time? Trucker protests, commuters stop travelling, airliners shut down, railroads join protesters, Demonstrators in the streets demand pullout from Iraq, tax evasion by millions of americans to protest the occupation and high oil prices, in demand for energy re-infrastructuring

The first thing you would have to do is get everybody to agree on what 'energy independence' is and what means are acceptable to that end.

I think you may be a bit naive.

Oil prices, while they may come down a bit more, and nonetheless going to be higher, and continue to grow higher due to a growing global demand of a finite product.

While we are the #1 consumer of oil, China, India, and the rest of the emerging Nations are increasing their usage at double digit rates annually.

Your idea of restructuring our energy policy to be far less dependent on Petroleum however does have merit.

Let's all just take a vacation at the same time don't work don't do anything just stop and see what happens there will still be those that are brain washed enough and panicked enough that they think the world will stop if they stop. No one will ever come to a consensus. And when people in an obscure Arab country average medium income is $600,000 a year something is wrong. Let's all complain, raise h**l something if you don't have money you don't matter and no one will listen to you now if you can mass a people through silliness I'm sure you might have a better chance.

OUR POLITICIANS are doing this on purpose, do not let them fool you.  There is plenty of gas and oil

Start calling your Congressmen/women and other Reps to INSIST we go after our own resources.  What "they" are doing is very against America in my opinion.

well, that would maybe let the us gov. get that oil in Alsaka. or they'll try to kill those people. pullout from Iraq is a good idea but only if we nuke Iraq after. we got to kill our enemies. kill them all and let God sort em out. gotta be mean before they come to America and kill us.
