I'm a non-traditionalist, but my partner is a die hard Southern gent. So, we are trying to compromise on new Southern names we both like. We don't want it to sound cheap or trashy...so we are in great need of some opinions. Honest thoughts really help, and also if you have any suggestions or additions to the list that would be great (Middle names too!!!) !!!

So far there's:

Roam

Rowdy

Bryar

Morgan

BTW...we have relatives named Jackson, Cooper, and Hunter...

I have very distant relatives named Annie Missouri, Shelby Missouri, and Martha Missouri (though that side never got near the state!), and I think there's an interesting and distinctly southern ring to those.

Of your name choices, I think Morgan is good for a boy or girl, and Jackson, Cooper, and Hunter are all nice.

  10. I'm from L.A. so I can relate to your being non-traditional. I also lived in Georgia for 10 years, and I understand the Southern Gentleman. (as much as you can understand him). LOL.

    Here are my suggestions:

    August

    Everett

    Emmett

    Cyrus

    Cole

    Frederick

    Wallace

Some of these sound really dated. Others are kind of cool when you say them a few times.

    These are my sisters favorites;

    Levon

    Lemuel

    Samuel

    Garth

    Grayson

The ones you have mentioned sound like they belong in L.A. or New York. Hope these helped and Good luck.
