  1. Try your travel agent and book an organized tour from Barcelona to Madrid.

    =)

  2. Barcelona most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. For more details see http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelo...

  3. What a coincidence.  I just got back from a 9 day trip in Spain.

Start off in Barcelona.  Things to do:

    1.  See Gaudi's architecture at two landmarks: Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera.

    2.  Explore the Gothic Quarter and see the Barcelona Catedral and the Museu Picasso.  Have tapas at Cal Pep's (Pl de les Olles 8) and anchovies and cava at El Xampanyet (Calle Montcada 22).

    3.  Walk down Las Ramblas and see the street performers.  Stop by the Mercat de la Boqueria.

    4.  Visit Fundacio Joan Miro.

    5.  Visit the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.

    6.  Walk by the port area and have seafood at Agua (Pg Maritim 30.  93 225 12 72 - call for reservations).

You can cover this leisurely in 3 days.  There's a Hop on, Hop off Bus that stops in most of the sights.

Fly to Madrid.  Iberia Airlines has a lot of flights - almost every hour.

    1.  Visit the Palacio Real.

    2.  Go to the Plaza Mayor.  Have lunch at Botin - reputedly the oldest restaurant in the world.  It's in a street near the Plaza Mayor called Calle de la Cuchilleros 17.  Call for reservations: 91 366 4217.

    3.  Watch flamenco at Casa Patas (Calle de Canizares 10).

    4.  Go to the Museo del Prado, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.

    5.  Go to the Parque del Retiro.

There's also a Hop on, Hop off bus that stops in most sights.  And you can do this itinerary in 3 days.

Take the train to Seville.  It's only 2.5 hours and very comfortable.

    1.  See the Seville Catedral and La Giralda which houses Columbus' tomb.

    2.  Visit the Real Alcazar.

    3.  Watch a bullfight at the Plaza de Toros.  They are supposedly on from March-October.

    4.  Go shopping at Calle de las Sierpes.

    5.  Take a day trip by bus to Granada to see the Alhambra.  You can book this online at viator.com.

    And that's another 3 days.

If you prefer Ibiza, you can easily get to it from Barcelona.

  4. If you are a fan of Salvador Dali make sure to take a train to Figueres. It is about an hour and a half from Barcelona. Awesome museum in Dali's hometown. Amazing artwork. His tomb is in the museum as well.

Definitely plan on spending at least 3 nights in Barcelona because there is lots to do and you wont want to leave. Just try not to be there on a Sunday...most things are closed.
