Question:

Suggestions for ACT prep?

I am going to be a junior in high school and i will be taking the ACT soon. I took a class over the summer which started me in preparing for the exam. I really need to score a 30 or higher. The first time I took it, I got a 28. How should I go about improving my score? There is a place called Huntington Learning Center and they have a program for ACT prep that I have considered. Otherwise, there is a local in-home private tutor in which people have had success with in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is best for improving my score?

  1. I would recommend that you avoid using a learning center for ACT prep.  Instead, I've found that using the books independently is extremely effective if you have the discipline to do it.  I used The Real ACT Prep Guide on my own and earned a 36 composite just by working through the book and doing practice problems.
