Suggestions for G or PG rated short stories to teach grammar through literature to seventh graders?

I need appropriate short stories to model and teach certain aspects of grammar: compound and complex sentences, appositives, etc...Any suggestions?

I wasn't aware readings got G and PG ratings like television and movie programs do, but there are a ton of books and literature available.  Search your library since you likely need a resource for your material, unless you intend to draw from the Internet, which likely won't be free for a full length book/story.
