What's the best fan out on the market right now? I've heard bad things about the Nyko fan because it fries/melts your Xbox 360. Any ideas for a substitute?

  1. The Nyko Intercooler EX is the best one you can get for now. It cannot melt to the system because the part that used to melt is now made of the same metal that is on the power brick. If it does melt, there is a problem, but not with the cooler.

  2. Do not get a fan.  the heat of the moving parts in the fan create more heat then the fan actully cools. u should be fine without it, especailly with microsofts 3 year warrenty

  3. nah bro dont get any!

i have bought pretty much all of them and to ME it just makes it hotter and makes ALOT of knows

  4. There are I think only two fans out in the market right now and a cooling dock for the bottom of your 360.  I would recommend the Nyko Intercooler EX.  I know you said you've heard bad things about it but look again. ------EX------ Nyko found out about the problem with the melting plug so they released the EX version which has a metal plug that isn't going to melt anytime soon.  The Intercooler works great.  My buddy has one and it decreases the temp. by a few degrees Celsius (which is actually quite a bit cuz it's CELSIUS not Fahrenheit).  It also decreases load times (unofficial and not on the box or anything, it is something me and my buddy noticed and tested to see and yes it does do it).  So, as long as you go for the EX version all will be good and you can pick it up for as low as $15.00.  Hope my advice helped! =)

  5. i suggest getting one thats not too cheap or too expensive, and i have a nyko and i accidentaly left it on when i went on vacation (6 days) when i came back it was on and well.

  6. i think that they all do more harm than good.  You really do not need a fan.  I have run my 360 in a fairly enclosed space next to my TV 3-4 hours every day, more on weekends.  I have had it for a year with no problems.  I also had my old one for a year, which i replaced for reasons other than hardware failure

just be careful with it and the fan becomes unnecessary.
