Dear all,

Next weekend I'd like to celebrate my birthday by the sea.

I live in London and i was thinking to go to Bournemouth for a weekend break.

Can you kindly suggest me somewhere by the sea you think it's a beautiful, cozy way to spend the birthday.

Thanks to all

G.

  1. Tenby !!!

  2. Well, my favourite seaside resort is Southwold in Suffolk.  It's within a couple of hours of London and is just perfect.  It's a small town with lovely shops, great restaurants, lots of lovely walks, a pier, the Adnams brewery (which seems to own most of the town), a lighthouse, and two great Adnams hotels, (The Swan and The Crown).

Our favourite thing to do is to stay at The Crown, and eat at The Swan, a mere stagger along the very pretty high street.  There's also a fantastic fish and chip shop and a really good bistro (The Blue Lighthouse).

We've been to Southwold for a weekend break most years.  Both Adnams hotels get booked up but you may be lucky, if not there are some great B&Bs along the seafront.

There are no traditional amusements, no funfair, but believe me, you won't miss them.  It's such a great place.  Here are some links:

  3. becos the weather is so unpredictable at the moment instead of going by the sea why not look into renting a nice "cosy" cottage in Devon or cornwall by the seaside but more country

  4. Broadstairs;kent

    Walton on the naze;essex

    shoeburyness;essex

  5. Visit Blackpool if you've never been.

  6. Brighton maybe?

  7. Whitstable is a very quant little seaside place, some good restaraunts and quaint shops along with the worlds oldest company "Whitstable oyster company". I believe it`s over 1,000 yrs old....

  8. I imagine you will find somewhere lovely to go. Cornwall is sooo beautiful and tends to be a bit warmer. There are loads of cosy pubs and tearooms as well. if you were feeling adventurous, you could go surfing:-)

  9. Fly very early morning by RyanAir to Prestwick, take the 585 Fastbus (twice an hour) to Wemyss Bay and the fabulous new ferries over to The Unexplored Isle of Bute. Immediately take the open-top tourer bus to Scalpsie Bay (1100am, 1.00pm, or 3.00pm) You can swim with the seals, not see another soul and wonder why you ever lived in towns. You will love it.
