I get FAFSA financial aid for school at $2100 a semester, which barely helps me pay my rent. I only make $12.00/hr as a receptionist and work around my school hours (30 hours a week). I'm trying to get my nursing prerequisites done but money is tight.

I only have Sundays off, after church... but am trying to think of ways that are reputable to make an extra couple hundred dollars a month to help me get little extras like a hair cut, gas, etc. Any ideas?

  1. Why are you using FAFSA money to pay your rent?

  2. Does your school itself have any fee waivers?

  3. Nursing school is very tough, at some point u would have 2 cut back on your working hours just 2 get good grades, so i'd suggest maybe taking out private loans 2 cover ur costs of school, since the FAFSA isn't enough & they might actually cover other costs such as living costs as well.  Also keep trying out for scholarships, they may help big time.

  4. Make sure you do your fafsa early every year... Feb/March is early.

Always. Always. Always look for scholarships to apply for.

Babysit kids on Sundays, increase your hours at work.
