Question:

Suggestions for a trip to Cabo in May!?

A few friends and I are planning to spend about 4 nights in Cabo in late May and I was looking for suggestions on where to stay. We're all in our mid 20s and looking to party some but also be close to the beach. Is it better to go w/ an all-inclusive property or try to rent out a villa/condo. I think there's 4 of us going. Any suggestions on what to do while we're there? Also, how is the weather in May? We're traveling from Phoenix so we're familiar w/ hot weather, but not so used to high humidity. Thanks!

  1. Hola.  I live here in Cabo and can help you.

Even though a condo/villa is a good idea, your best bet for a first visit to Cabo is going to an all-inclusive.  That way you'll have everything taken care of, with plenty of activities, and lots of arranged things to see and do, but you can pick and chose what you want.  When you rent a villa/condo, its all up to you to arrange buying food and laundry and dealing with transport or knowing where to go.  It is not usually a good idea until you return to Cabo for a second time....AND you will.   Everyone loves Cabo and comes back.

I would suggest the Riu Palace.  The reason is because it is very close to the town of Cabo San Lucas (all the others are farther away - some up to 20 mins or more).  You can pretty well walk to the nightclubs and/or take a short taxi home.  The beach that the resort is on is called Medano and that is where all the action is.  You look across the bay to the famous landmark arch "el arco".   The activities are endless.   Safe and fun for a group of 20 something women!   You can swim with dolphins, go on snorkeling excursions, ATV the sand dunes, go on a art gallery stroll, check out the endless stores and shopping.  You won't be bored.

The weather in May is lovely and dry.  If you are from Phoenix, then you will be perfectly acclimitized.  Our weather matches yours...we are not as humid as say, Cancun or even Puerto Vallarta.   I really like it here at that time of year.

Check out the Riu Palace website.  The next all-inclusives would be the Melia Real and the Crowne Plaza.  Then I would say the Villa del Parmar which has an all-inclusive option, and then the Royal Solaris, the Westin Regina, Dreams and last but not least El Presidente.
