  1. I had the EXACT same problem for a few years when i was a teenager. Try physically and mentally exhausting yourself during the day by being out and about with friends, running around, chatting incessantly, reading, writing, working out - whatever it takes - until you're completely exhausted by the evening and then try to go to sleep as soon as you feel tired, don't stay up watching TV or playing on the computer at night. If that doesn't work, try getting your parents to get you a safe sleep supplement like melatonin or valerian, which you can buy at the drugstore. Good luck, I know exactly what you're going through!

  2. This is not uncommon in teenagers and tweens. Your internal clock is a mess due to your hormonal changes. While it is hard now it will get better with time.

The best way to deal with this now is gradually. Let's say you are going to bed at 5:30 am and waking up at 3:00. Let's say you did this on Monday. On Tuesday you would set your alarm for 2:00 and wake up take a shower and go on with your day. By Friday you are waking up at 11, setting the clock back an hour a day. Now keep that time for a few days then on Monday or Tuesday start decreasing again until you get to a normal or required time.

Also people have different releases of a chemical called melatonin. It is common to miss one of these cycles and get what some call a "second wind". When this happens you have to wait for the next cycle. Knowing this you will understand why I tell you to listen closely to your body for signs of sleepiness after the sun goes down. This is likely melatonin in your system and a good time to lie down.

Some people find it helpful to take melatonin an hour or so before they want to go to sleep. You can get it at any pharmacy and it is a natural and safe sleep aid that is non habit forming. I would add chamomile tea and a warm bath to this, very dim light as well. All this aids in the bodies creation of melatonin and ultimately your sleep.

All plans of waking up super early and not sleeping will only make you more tired and ultimately back fire. Do the slow ease method and you will have more long term success at staying in your rhythm.

If your parents give you too much grief look this up online. Look for Teenage Internal Clock. I know we covered it in some of my human biology courses. It should be out there. It will help them understand you more. My parents used to get mad at me all the time for it in highschool so I know how much that doesn't help. Just figure out what you wanna do about it and be confident that you are not alone, you are not lazy, you are simply going through a lot of changes and this is a manifestation of that, you will get it under control :)

  3. Make yourself do something for a whole day. Go somewhere and don't sit around or relax at all. You'll be dead tired from staying up 24 hours and even if you go to sleep at say, 5:30 in the evening and wake up at 3 in the morning or something, you'll be on the right track. Get up, go about your day, stay really busy and get to sleep a little later each time. Just don't let yourself have ANY down time the first day.

  4. lol sounds like me we go to sleep at the same time well I usually don't sleep the whole day then go to sleep at the time I'm supposed to then everything is better but since that seems to be a problem you should try going to sleep an hour earlier everyday till your used to sleeping at the time your supposed to that also works for me hope I helped : )
