Question:

Suggestions for learning guitar- more than the basics?

I've been playing guitar for a few months now. I started on acoustic (although it wasn't mine, and was kind of a c**p guitar), and I bought an electric. It's a pretty good little guitar, nice humbuckers, and sounds pretty nice through my amp.

I know the basics like a few chords, practice techniques, & stuff like slides, bends, hammer-ons/ pull-offs, etc. And how to read tabs..blah blah.

Anyways, I've completely been teaching myself, and I have to say I'm quite proud of my progress. However, I'm kind of in a rut because now that I know some basics I'm a little intimidated to continue on to bigger and better skills. So far I've used online lessons and tablature.

I live in a small town so nobody teaches guitar around here. It sucks because I really have a passion for it and it's hard to get back on track without someone encouraging me.

Any help at all would be gladly appreciated.

BTW- sorry for the extrememely long question. hehe.

  1. just stick w/ what you've been doing. find some online 'buddies' for encouragement.

you could also take on a friend as a 'project' by teaching them, you'll get better and will hopefully get them interested so ya'll can do it together.
