I'm looking around for a new car and wanted suggestions for what to get.

I'm after a second hand car thats about 3/4 years old, small to medium sized, around a 1.2 or 1.4 engine and preferably less than £5000. I've gotta Fiesta at the mo so fancy a change from that but all I can think of is either a Clio or a Corsa. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

  1. Toyota Yaris

    =D !

  2. Most Girls buy clios or corsas but i think if you looking at pimping it up or putting some nice rims on it your best chance is buying a Ford Ka but they call it the hairdressers car because it is so small and they are cheap aswell dont cost much £££ at all i know my fair stuff about cars as i am going into mechanics soon to study lights and engine tuning so if you want any other information eg engine, speed, miles and stuff email me am happy to help you

  3. Renault Megane - Got A 54-Reg 5-Door Hatchback Outside

Its Amazing, We Also Had The Estate Version, Also Amazing

We have a Megane and a Jag S-Type

The Megane Is Better In My Opinion, looks good, quiet, fast, rides sooo well, good stereo, cheap to run and insure, easy to maintain and keep clean. looks superb when going around a corner at 10mph.

But thats just the opinion of a 14-yr old =]

The steering is also light and responsive, the seats are oh so comfy, and frankly I love that car

You can get a good one for about £5k

That would be a 55-reg dynamique spec.

Or get a 1.6 Dynamique Auto with a Cd Changer, Panoramic sunroof, cruise contol and keyless entry.

That would probably be about £6k

The Megane looks better than most high-end cars as well, like  when in the driveway next to our old 07-reg S500, the megane still looked better.

  4. clio's are cute!

  5. Well you have a lot of ideas to choose from. Consider 5 doors (so your friends can jump in and out quick when you go partying) and talk to your insurance company about low insurance group cars. If you're not already on comprehensive insurance, consider that. It covers so much more.

As for cars... try www.autotrader.co.uk. You can input your postcode and how far you want to travel, how old it is, how much you want to pay and then let their search engine do the looking. You may find your ideal car a lot closer to your house than you think.

And you may find a car that you hadn't considered at a great price.

    Good luck in your search!

  6. Ford Focus! A very nice drive. I had a Clio before and it was horrible to drive, but that's my opinion.

  7. for that you can get a mark 5 golf 1.4

its well built very relable and a golf!

my mum has a gti edtion 30, and the stero in it is amazing, and golfs with alloys look so good

    get a grey one

my dads got a jaguar xf just incase you wanted to know:D

and we had a 5 series in black wsith tints it looked meann

  8. I agree with nic, A Ford Focus sounds like it would serve you well. It's a Ford so it's dead reliable, parts are cheap and insurance is too. A renault magane is also a good quality car with all the controls and k***s being easy to use.

  9. I'd suggest a 2002-2004 Volkswagen Polo, they're available with either a 1.2 or 1.4 litre engine, are cheap to run and have a better reliability record than the Renault or Vauxhall, also the Polo would most likely be worth more when you come to sell it.

  10. Well is it to be new or second hand because that will decide what people suggest. You need to decide on that first of all.
