I am preparing for an upcoming audition for the school play and I have to pick a monologue to preform. My problem is that I am having trouble picking a approriate monologue. I have several ideas, but I am a little unsure of how to know which one is the best for it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. Well, you want to perform a monologue that shows off your ability to act in a way that will give the director an idea of what role if any to cast you in.  If the character you want to play is aged, then perform a monologue for an aged character.  If it is a drama then do a dramatic monologue, it a comedy then find something funny.  You get my point.  Use the internet to find a monologue by typing in say "dramatic monologue for middle aged female"  or "comedy monologues for teens" into your search engine.  You'll get ideas that way and then just pick one you want to learn.  Break a leg!
