Suggestions for single travel (lady)?

I'm a 24-y/o lady who loves adventure (wouldn't mind backpacking), nature, food-tripping and culture. I would love to try traveling abroad alone this year. What I have in mind are Kerala in India, Bangkok, Maldives or Greece. Which is the most single-friendly place (for a woman)? For those of you who have been traveling solo, what places would you suggest? I'm planning to stay between 1-2 weeks.

Based on information I have received from my sister whom used to travel extensively professionally... Avoid S/E Asia. I've heard good things (from other sources) about Greece, mind you you'd probably want to go with a group.

If you're a diver...the Maldives are good for that.

The big issue, is that in many places, a single woman travelling by herself is simply a target waiting to be grabbed... and the results can range from purse snatchings to kidnappings for white slavery (it does exist), to outright rape and murder. That having been said, there *are* many places where a single woman on her own can have a wonderful time. Contact a Travel Agency and see if they can direct you to any "female friendly" destinations.

To tout the town I live in, if you're planning on doing the same next year, Winnipeg Manitoba (Canada) does a 2 week long multi-cultural festival every Summer called Foklorama. Additionally, in the Winter, we have a festival in February called Festival du Voyager that is extremely popular...

personally, i would go to Alaska - maybe Juneau.

it's great in the summer, and women are treated very very well.

I went to Greece on a cruise and it was just fabulous!! They have great wine and lots of sunshine and very friendy people! :)

I went on my first trip alone to St Maarten in the caribbean... loved it. The people were very friendly. Island is ultra tiny, you can drive around the whole island in less than an hour.

I would say Greece because Greece is the most beautiful  place in the world also it is very safe place for you to go by yourself. I would not recommend you to visit India, bangkok because it is kind of dangerous place for a single lady who travels by herself. If you don't want to be robed then go to Greece.
