My wife and I are interested in going to Ireland for about a week in mid July. We've just started talking to a travel agent and have begun to buy books on the subject but I'm wondering if any of you have suggestions on keeping the cost down on this trip, or interesting things to see / do while we are there. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

  1. You are so Bias on here no one ever mentions going to Northern Ireland for a trip

  2. what part of ireland?,you may find its cheaper to go fishguard/or pembroke to rosslair.ferry its three and half hours crossing,or or check on line for cheap flights.you should have a fab time, but tell us what part you intend to go.

  3. Wow your gonna have so much fun! you have to spend at least a couple of days in Dublin! see trinity college, go shopping, take the viking tour bus, etc etc the country is really good for tourists, though be prepared to part with your money its a pricey place!

  4. Hi! Im Irish, living in Dublin.. My suggestions are try camp or caravan.. most counties in ireland have a campsite.. I would recommend that you see:

    carlow Town

    Kilkenny City

    Killarney Town

    Ring of Kerry

    Dublin City

It might be hard to fit it all in a week but its possible!!! Cost wise, it may be a little impossible to keep the cost down low as ireland is expensive but organise tours yourself and chat to the locals if in a small town or place and you will find that they can be a free tour guide!!!!

    enjoy!!!! Agus Cead Mile failte

  5. Try booking a tour through Insight Vacations they have tours that are awesome, like the Country roads of Ireland, You fly into Dublin then visit Galway, Tralee, Ring of Kerry, waterford etc.  Excursions to the Customs house, King John's castle, Climb Blarney Castle they have so many different tours and they are very competive with pricing.  Check them out at http://www.insightvacations.com

    Happy planning.
