Suggestions on a Speaker Box for a Crew Cab Silverado 06..?

I have an 06 Silverado crew Cab truck and need some advice on a box and speakers. I have a downfire box, vented, built for 2 10" Subs. The subs I have are Kicker CVR 2 Ohm DVC subs. They are being pushed by a Power Acoustic OC22600 amp 2 channel. It sounds ok with low volume, but when you crank it up, the bass flattens out and just sounds like s#!t. Before the downfire, I had a box that sat behind the seat and was beating against the rear of the seat and also sounded like c**p. Now I am getting mad and about to throw away all of this stuff and start over. Do the subs require more air space than I can give them? Do I need 4 Ohm speakers instead, just a better box. I was thinking of having 2 seperate badpass boxes built for each sub and go from there. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? I sure could use the help.

Try some of the *new* JL W5 series. Designed for limited space.http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.... These definitely cant go under your seat but would be able to be put in a box behind your seat. My buddy has two of these in his and his sh*t knocks...

Well, first for a ported box you need a box volume of 1.25 - 1.75, and for sealed 0.8 - 3.0, for those subs.  Now, get the dimensions of the box they're in and put them into a program that determines the volume, like here:

That should determine if the box is correct for them (divide the total volume by 2).  I bet it's not,  most boxes for crew cab trucks are sealed and the greatest volume I've seen is only about 0.83 per.  I studied boxes long and hard for my 07 Sierra Crew Cab.

Try to go by what the manufacturer of the subs recommend for the type/size of enclosure to use. You can't just stick subs in any box and expect them to sound good.
