Suggestions on booking a hotel?

We are going to gas Lamp in San Diego on Sept. 13 th and we are looking for a hotel to stay at. We have been down there several times but have always stayed at little old ones for like 100 bucks. This is for a bach. party and we want to hang out by the pool during the day. We were looking at the Hilton or the Ivy. Do you know of any companys you can book through other than orbitz,etc. The cheapest we have found is like 200$. Any other companys that you have had good experiences through?

the sites that i use are www.ytbtravel.com/travelperfect and travelocity.com their sites are pretty good.

I've always had great experience with Expedia.com. The best way to get good deals with them is by creating an account first.  You can do that by clicking on this link:

Their homepage displays a list of discounts and coupons that you can use, even right now, such as booking a trip by August 31st and receiving a $100 coupon to use anytime after. Another website which can sometimes have cheaper hotels is travelocity.com and also hotwire.com. Hotwire usually has great deals on flights as well.
