Suggestions on ex issues ?

So… I dated this guy for 7 months about a year and a half ago now. We had such an amazing relationship, but then ended really bad. We ended up not talking for 10 months. It took me so long to get over him, I was always upset. I finally got over him, (at least that’s what I told myself), and found a new boyfriend. We recently just broke up. Not long after I got a text from my ex. (I used to like him so much, and for some reason it really got my hopes up again). He asked if I thought about us, and then later told me he did all the time. So tonight he text me to say nothing could ever work with us. Then says it’s because of the rough break-up and was worried what my family thought of him. So I asked why did he text me to begin with. He said he was just seeing how things were. What am I supposed to think of this?

What you think is only important if you want to give it a go.  If so then what he thinks becomes even more important.

Sounds like you're keen to at least try so why not make sure either way.

Just what he told you.  Men usually don't speak in code, unless they are cheating, and he has no reason to worry about cheating.

well it sounds to me like he was actually interested in you again but then changed his mind so he came up with a BS excuse so that you would leave him alone I think you need to forget about him cause he's just playing games and no body needs that
