I am constructing a house with space for a small Home Theater built in amphitheater style. Total area is about 180sq.ft with wood flooring. As I would prefer to have good Home Theatre system in place, need help in suggesting what kind of set-up should i go for, which brand of speakers, amplifier and TV, how many speakers is ideal for this space , which subwoofer, TV size for this space. Any details in this regard is highly appreciated. Also, your input on the wall color in the home theater will be added bonus (wood flooring shade is mid tone).

  1. You will need also to consider lighting for your theater. Most theaters have:

    Wall Sonces: http://www.rlights.com/viewcategory.php?...

    and

Mini Pendants over the wet bar: http://www.rlights.com/viewproduct.php?i...

    Just a suggestion.

  2. you have to start with a budget.  there are simply way too many options to consider without knowing how much you're willing to spend.  please repost with a budget and you'll get good, specific help.

  3. How much are you looking to spend? I can recommend a Custom A/v dealer if you tell me what city you live in.

  4. That budget ... is way too low.  A good subwoofer is about $600 and the cheaper HDTV brands are $1000 each.

You can buy a HTIB but it's kind of a tail-wagging-the-dog to have a dedicated room for a cheep system.

But - make sure to get a HTIB that looks like the parts are sold separately . This way you can slowly upgrade the pieces over time.

My other advice: go to a dedicated fourm like HomeTheaterForum or AVS. These sites have dedicated areas for theater-rooms. Just spend a few days for tips and advice on how to do a DIY dedicated room (Lifters for a couch can make stadium seating, etc).
