Star Pakistan all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Hafeez-c76898 was the stand out performer in the match for SNGPL. He failed to make a solid contribution with the bat, but picked up 11 wickets.
Toss was won by the home team’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulfiqar-Jan-c98676, who chose to field first. The wicket appeared to have some assistance for the bowlers, which made the competition interesting.
SNGPL got off to a struggling start, as the top-order batsmen were unable to cope up with the seam and bounce in the first couple of sessions of play.
Hafeez looked good, but gave his wicket away after collecting 25 runs at the top of the order. He would have liked to carry onto make a big one after getting used to the pace and bounce of the pitch.
The team had lost three wickets for 44 runs, but skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595 steadied the ship with a solid 72-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Misbah was unable to capitalise on the start to his innings and got out after contributing 25 runs to the total.
However, Umar continued to dominate the opposition’s bowlers and scored 97 runs with the help of 16 boundaries. He missed out on the century by three runs, but guided his side into a safe position.
The elder Akmal, Adnan also played well towards the end of the innings. He scored 34 runs, guiding the team’s total to 223 in the end.
The home team’s attack bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yasir-Ali-c98240 did a fabulous job, dismissing five batsmen in the innings.
However KRL failed to make a solid impression with the bat and got out for 192 runs in their first outing. The highest scorer of the innings was captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zulfiqar-c98656, who contributed 62 runs to the total towards the end of the innings.
Hafeez did not allow the opposition’s batsmen to settle down and took six wickets in the innings.
Misbah’s side gained a first innings lead of 31 runs and stretched it to 273 after collecting 242 runs in their second outing.
The top order once again struggled to score runs, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khurram-Shehzad-c71392 and Adnan batted well at number seven and eight respectively. They collected 55 and 58 runs respectively and the innings was declared at 242 for eight.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ali-Naqvi-c998 did a decent job for KRL, picking up four wickets. However, the team’s batting failed miserably and all got out for 154.
Naqvi was the highest scorer for his side, as he contributed 48 runs to the total.
Hafeez’s splendid spell of bowling left the hosts in tatters. The veteran all-rounder bagged five wickets this time around for SNGPL.
