If you try to take your life, what kind of hospital would you end up in

You would either be in mental or sometimes if it's really bad jail! My mom is a nurse and she visits people who are like that! It's interesting actually!

my sister had suicidal pictures in her room my mom found them and took her there seriously if your thinking about suicide its not smart its only going to hurt your family and your friends don't do these places really help allot of it is undiagnosed depression

Hopefully a mental hospital or a hospital with a mental ward.  That's if you're lucky.  Suicide is not the answer.  

If you are having problems that are too big for you to deal with and you feel you have nothing to loose- why not call a hotline?  You have nothing to loose, right?

Even though I dont think the prosecutors or the state have ever tried this, but if you try suicide you could actually be tried for attempted murder.  I remember discussing this issue in a Ethics Class and when you get to the root, a person could be tried in court.  

I dont think any prosecuter would, because it would get thrown out of court, because if a person is goofy enough to try to take their own life, they have some issues.

Well if youre dying you'll obviously go to a regular hospital first to treat the physical wounds. And then a mental hospital to treat the depression

then you would most likely (depending on how you tried to off youslf) transfer you to a mental hospital where you would get therapy and what not

if works you don't go to a hospital, duh, but if you Try to take your life then you would probably go to a mental hospital for them to try to help you with self-esteem issues or whatever made you think it was OK to try to kill yourself.

if you are a teen they will probably send you to a retreat where people learn to like them selves , if you are an adult end up in like a mental one

A mental one...but what I don't understand, is if some one were really trying to take their own life, why would they be worried about what hospital? Wouldn't that person be more concerned with follow through?

I say it's a d**n stupid thing either way, but is this a cry for help?

Depends. First you would be taken to the regular hospital, ER to take care of your wounds/injuries. Then depending on the capabilities of that hospital you may be kept there for observation or you could be transfered to a hospital/institution that specializes in psychological issues.

That would depend on your age. If you a minor and you attempt suicide you will most likely end up in a children's hospital, if you're an adult you'll probably end up in a psych ward.

most long term mental facilities are now closing (at least the ones in my area) and now regular hospitals are setting up short or long term care facilities within their buildings.

They would take you to a medical hospital first and have you checked out then transport you to a mental health facility for at least 72 hours, but more likely longer than that. I think you would be labeled "5150"

If you succeed you go to the morgue. No re-dos
