Question:

Suitable colours for a Hong Kong wedding?

Please help, I'm going to a wedding in Hong Kong. The bride will be wearing two dresses; red and white, so I have been asked not to wear these colours. Black is also linked with mourning, so I will be staying away from that.

Mid to dark blue is the only other colour that really suits me, but I was also told there is a thing against wearing blue at Hong Kong weddings. Is this right? If so, I'm at a loss. I don't suit yellows, oranges or pinks, so what else is there? Would emerald green be acceptable?

It's kinda limiting me on what I can wear, and I don't want to buy an outfit unless the colour suits me...

  1. What about burgundy or charcoal grey (in winter), pastel blue or pastel green (in summer)?  I think emerald green is ok too.

  2. White during the ceremony. Red if there is a dinner.
